Haigs is a family business established in 2007 by James and Julie Haig. We are a specialist Award Winning Food Hall situated in the heart of Aberdeen city centre, specialising in fresh meat, fresh fruit and veg, bakery and pies.

Our Schoolhill shop is the heart of our business, spread across 4,500 square feet we have created a beautiful and spacious retail area where you can purchase all our homemade products, complemented by a sit down café section, specialist alcohol section, gift section with an abundance of Scottish produce, we are showcasing fantastic Scottish products working with small artisan Scottish producers to bring an abundance of products to you under one roof. This site is also home to our Award Winning Kitchen, food safety is of key importance to us, we have segregated our butchery team, kitchen team and our shop team who handle cash and card separately eliminating cross contamination and adding to the overall experience shopping with Haigs.

We have a unique healthy eating product which is sought after within the north east of Scotland, our city centre store is complemented by our mobile shop which visits many towns and villages throughout the north east of Scotland, through designated collection points, we also supply several independent retailers to help us get our unique products out into the communities.

James Haig, Master Butcher has over 30 years experience within the food industry, he has had a very busy and rewarding career serving customers such as Harrod's, Harvey Nichols, Spencer House, Claridge's and many more.  James career began in Scotland as a young apprentice butcher, serving his time with a top shop winner he personally won Scottish Young Butcher of the year, since then his career has gone from strength to strength being involved in senior butchery management for a major retailer, Q Guild shop manager in central London and involved in senior management within two successful organic meat companies.

Over the years James and Haigs have won a considerable amount of awards from butchery, bakery and our award-winning website, we have even been highly commended by Gary Rhodes in his search for local food heroes. Recently we were crowned Scotland's Best Food Retailer and Scotland's Best Independent Retailer and also the Consumers Family Retailer of the Year.
