About Us

Haigs is a small family owned business established in 2007 by James and Julie Haig. We are a specialist food hall situated in the heart of Aberdeen city centre, specialising in fresh meat, fresh fish, fresh fruit & veg, bakery and pies.

James Haig, Master Butcher has over 30 years experience within the food industry, he has had a very busy and rewarding career serving customers such as Harrod's, Harvey Nichols, Spencer House, Claridge's and many more. James career began in Scotland as a young apprentice butcher, serving his time with a top shop winner he personally won Scottish Young Butcher of the year, since then his career has gone from strength to strength being involved in senior butchery management for a major retailer, Q Guild shop manager in central London and involved in senior management within two successful organic meat companies

Over the years James and Haigs have won a considerable amount of awards from butchery, bakery and our award winning website, we have even been highly commended by Gary Rhodes in his search for local food heroes.

Haigs has something to offer everyone, whether you are passing by and want breakfast, lunch or a coffee or are a passionate "foodie" looking for a fantastic quality product, planning a large shop or a dinner party or generally want to stock up on some of our exceptional products, we have something to offer you all.

Our promise is to use our passion and experience to offer a friendly first class service and we extend a warm welcome to all existing and new customers.

OUR PROMISE TO YOU:

Haigs currently covers a large number of areas within Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire including some farmers markets outwith this, please check out the timetable below which indicates where and when we are in your area, look out for the big blue mobile shop, orders can be placed in advance to collect at the mobile shop (please see lead times).

We are going to great lengths to bring our unique product closer to you in a professional refrigerated and controlled manner as we have no confidence in the cool box postal/courier system other businesses use or the way this system is governed by the relevant authorities with no temperature checks in place on customer receipt of products, this is a big deal to Haigs as we care deeply about our products and brand and most importantly about our customers and food safety, our customers are the heart of our business and our promise to you is to give you the best service, the best products, the best prices and the best food safety.
